The role of the Human Resources Manager is to act as an advisor for the Nipissing First Nation is one of support and guidance to the Nipissing First Nation management team having delegated human resources responsibilities from Chief and Council.
Additionally, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for the maintenance of this Human Resources Management Policy by ensuring both the employer (manager) and the employee are knowledgeable and aware of the policy and its provisions.

Provides advice and guidance in all human resource management matters. |

Providing guidance and employee assistance programs to all employees of the First Nation including; |
|
|
Development and implementation of training plans. |
|
|
Development of career plans |
|
|
Assisting employees with substance abuse problems. |
|
|
Assisting employees with retirement or career changes. |
As part of my role as Human Resources Manager is to provide training to the Employee’s of Nipissing First Nation, we have conduct in-house training for our staff to enhance their skills and work to establish specified training for their designated areas of employment. Annual training takes place such as, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS), First Aid and CPR, Young Worker Training for our Summer Students. We also provide detailed training for our staff such as, Time Management, Stress Management, Training for Managers.
Also, the Human Resources Department administers some of the components of the Summer Student Employment Program, which employ’s Post-Secondary and Secondary students. This program works on developing the skills of our youth to enable them to find rewarding careers in the future and give them opportunities to explore the different choices they have with deciding on their educational goals.
