Public Works

The public works department is staffed with eight full-time employees.  This includes the Supervisor, Reception, two Equipment Operators, three Water Treatment Operators, and the Landfill Attendant. Also, the Public Works Department employs several part-time staff to help carry out the services provided to our membership. Along with routine maintenance, which is carried out daily, other services within this department include:

Road Maintenance

As the communities continue to grow we have continued our efforts to improve our roadways and add additional roads to our Community. At the direction of Chief and Council we have developed a “Three Year Roads Management Plan” With this plan we are seeking any additional funding dollars available prior to presenting to Chief and Council for budget consideration for the long range plan.

Sand Dome

Planning has also continued for a sand dome to retain the winter salt mix required to sand roads though out the winter months.  Our goal is to complete this project over a three year period. This year the leveling and paving will be completed.
